Als in Europa während des 2. Weltkriegs die ersten Berichte über die Gräueltaten in den Konzentrationslager, resp. Vernichtungslager aufkamen, wurden diese zuerst auch nicht geglaubt. Man hielt diese Berichte bei den Alliierten für übertrieben.
