So...the first time Charles M Schulz used melancholy in Peanuts was this strip involving model trains.

Here's a weird and pointless doohickey, the Marx "Audio-Engineer". The box claimed it could control O scale trains with voice commands, but it's really just a glorified E-unit cycler button. Marx released this under the "Electro-Nuclear Devices, Inc" name, which adds to the stupidity of the thing.
