Ultimately it's probably easier for Fifa to work with authoritarians, they can provide bribes and favors, but more importantly they can mobilize funds and resources of the state and authorize stadiums without all of that pesky involving the people stuff. No elections or protests to fuck up your plan

Ed Davey needs to come down here and formally instantiate the Lib Dems as a branch of the LPC and hopefully some of the eternal mandate of heaven rubs off on his party.

It's going to be a very interesting place in about a decade from now. Calgary will be a 2 million metro, Edmonton 1.5 and both growing. Rural population slowly dropping. I don't think the UCP can hold on in that environment going as hard right as they do now for long.

Knowing Valve, they prefer world shattering announcements to be had at random days of the workweek between 10am and 2pm. It's a possibility, but it could also come after the fall sale as it's been pushed up the calendar this year.

Gamers are also not likely to actually put that much time into the games. The first KCD is easily a 200 hour game and that's not replaying much content, but I blew through it on my first run in about 20 because I was a dummy and actually assumed the main quest was urgent like the NPCs said it was.
