From my understanding, dew point should not have an impact. Temperature is the key, and I don’t see any rises in the temperature as altitude increases in that sounding.

I think that is a special atmospheric event where light can reflect off of ice crystals to make that pillars appearance. Fantastic shot!

No temperature inversion, or if there is one, it would be below the aircraft, which would dampen sound to the ground.

Would correlate to 4.6” of snow for temperatures around 28-30°F, 6.9” if temperatures were around 22°F.

As an ensemble, I think the FNV3 did very well in
a) developing Imelda in the first place
b) correctly showing it hugging Cuba
c) short range movements, like the jog NNE through the Bahamas
d) showing the SC landfall vs out to sea uncertainty
e) locking on with confidence the out to sea option early

I was 5 years old - they interrupted Sesame Street and I remember the scenes on the TV and saying why did the plane disappear (south tower). Time goes by quickly.

Did they seriously cut down that many trees for a solar farm? I almost wonder if the trees provide more benefit than the solar farm.
