‘Takes final shape’ but Daybreak didn’t have two presenters at launch did it - it was Robert Kee with a couple of reporters sat next to him.

Hope you enjoyed it Rob. Just a small token of gesture for the work you’ve done for TV pres fans over the years.

Something happened between series 1 and 2. Series 2 was trailed on C4 with Kay’s name at the front (but it never was called that on the actual programme). And Neil and Dave didn’t do series 2 commentary.

A shorter and not as good version of the show, at that. Which has people in the audience wearing “Garlic Bread!” t-shirts that Extras made fun of. Do think the fame went to his head a little bit. E.g. “Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights” actually written jointly with Dave Spikey and Neil Fitzmaurice.

Was a bit strange as Kay specifically mentioned the “surprise ending so don’t ruin it for anyone coming to see the show in 2032”

Totally forgot to mention that this tour usually has a second encore, but it never happened at our show which finished early (it happened at the same location the night before). Which led to a confused ending where the house lights didn’t come on right away and we didn’t know whether to leave or not

Yes, even the last show that was released on DVD, he had loads of routines and gags, whereas this one it felt like there were only three or four routines through the whole thing. It was a bit odd to be honest. A lot of it didn’t feel like stand up. But, everyone else seemed to enjoy it.

It was on a few UKTV channels around that time, don’t remember watching it on UKTV Documentary or People, but I prob watched it on G2. Repeats of the earliest series on UKTV People are the source of a lot of uploads to Dailymotion

Global even sourced an 80s FM processor so it has that lovely era-specific warmth and sound. Petition to get them to plug it into Smooth 80s when they're finished.

My absolute fav. The caption, the pose. The setting.

Cliff, shit, just remembered we need one more picture for the calendar. Fuck it just grab the Custard Creams and riff with it.
