He/his. Langdon/5C07 Commissioner. Advocate for more homes, fewer cars.
Some folks are so pacifist, they’d rather die than fight back, which is mostly fine if nobody depends on them or gets their advice on politics.

The US isn’t in great shape. DC should do less bad than the US average on traffic violence, on new home construction, on basic services, on taking care of all residents. So… let’s do any of that instead of silly stuff.

As do I, but we both have 2023-era Abounds that got one incremental upgrade and then one major upgrade since. I’d say the current bikes in this market segment have more to do with each other than with our relics.

A couple places to rest their legs but the uncovered wheels would be an issue. I’ve seen adult passengers ride e-CaBi by sitting straight on the rear fender so resting legs on that or the frame by the rear wheels seems doable.

Close, but no. Thanks for advocating for these two possible tiers of improvement! Moving the posts to the white line would be an accomplishment alone tbh.

Those bike lanes don’t comport to current standards at all, but there’s also no good mechanism to upgrade them without a big project. Notably, there is no buffer whatsoever (certainly not a minimum of 18”!) so there’s no slack on the flexpost placement. Proper flexpost/line overlap is never clear.

The identifier on the side of the truck should be enough, but since they probably prefer not to do anything…

Opened How Am I Driving SR 25-00269295 and bike rack repair SR 25-00269298.

Filing a How Am I Driving complaint and a bike rack fix ticket. Do you happen to have the license plate in any of your photos?

ughhh

I’m in the “do either quickly” camp but I’ll bring something forward in 5C to push one or the other if a strong preference develops among folks. I wasn’t planning to track this one too closely.

My read is that once things hit this level of engineering work, they avoid much public engagement. We have gotten constant presentation requests to ANC 5C for ABMA and haven’t heard about the Bridge since before the NCPC hearing.
March 26, 2025 at 2:29 AM
The last major update I have for the bridge was that it cleared NCPC review in Jan/Feb 2024 after a fairly contentious hearing, and we’re waiting on 100% Design for Spring 2026 construction start. Federal funding issues are a risk, so anything might happen. But ABMA is a separate connector piece.

Resolve is a strong word. The bridge cleared NCPC review and other hurdles over rower objections.

I was laughing at the bad and confusing naming and not at you tbc

From the links I shared, here is an info sheet on the bridge project. app.box.com/s/m4h9obvi7j...

Also, because of the federal funding chaos, who knows which happens first.

The bridge is imminently under construction. It connects trail to the east to an Arboretum gate to the west. The ABMA project that had its open house today would connect that western terminus to Maryland Ave. So, yes, a bridge to nowhere outside of US Arboretum operating hours until ABMA happens.
