This downplays things.

Biden increased the debt by 20%, from the start to end of his term

Trumps first term saw a 40% increase over the same time span

Of J Michael Bailey? Who also has spent a good chunk of his career trying to disprove bisexuality exists? While also taking a pretty ace-phobic stance on how orientation works? And whose most famous book breaches informed consent?

I’m not seeing that comparison

The fact Hirschfeld isn’t the first point both says a lot about the poet and is a real disservice to people’s pop understanding of the history.

Dune has remained on my shelf and probably will until after I finish my thesis… at least.

That's… an 800 page book. Roughly 8 MA theses or 4 PhD dissertations… And it's just over *half* the median author income (including part-time authors)—and poverty wages at that.

Yikes

I did get a poutine on our way out. But it was the bagels we b-lined it for after realizing we had time to go into the city.

Our last international trip involved a 24 hour layover in Montreal (unplanned) and a week in London. In January.

I do not blame you

Toronto is about as far north as the north coast of Spain. Further south than all of Washington and half of Oregon.

And yet Toronto claims to be "the north"

I once sat in a presentation in which a younger gen x guy told the mostly gen x & boomer crowd about how the wisdom saying millennials wanted to live downtown was wrong. His argument rested entirely on the fact that we don't… but didn't look at why.

As if econ & structural barriers weren't an issue

Yeah, basically you take the output from the pre-amp and treat it like a microphone. I haven’t done it, so that’s the extent of my knowledge.

I definitely fall more in the fantasy side of things, but… the fact there’s no le Guin, let alone classics like Shelley, Verne, and Wells tells me all I need to know. And nothing on the more utopian side?

In other news, one of the algorithms just asked if I'm Jewish. Way to be subtle with the tracking…

Unfortunately. Which feels like an accessibility issue tbh… Thanks for the focus and the layout options IG but I should still be able to navigate.

Sometimes it’s taking a moment to pop up, I’ve had to scroll a bit to get it to pop up…

Oh weird! On Sefaria, there’s a little page icon next to the address bar. Clicking on that gives a more focused reading experience—and the bar disappears when you scroll.

Why? Dunno. Not a web design girl 🤷🏻‍♀️

That should probably include single manufacturers contracting out to a bunch of different brands, a la the glasses industry. And I would be remise if I didn’t include owning a union and non-union shop with both submitting bids…

Don’t make me reflect on the wisdom of bullet journaling and how often I do exactly this…

It’s playing in Edmonton 🤷🏻‍♀️

Wait, we’re getting something Vancouver isn’t? What is this
