There is no difference between those animals, at least not in their deep experience of life. Dogs feel, therefore we should take care of them, not abuse or kill them. Cows feel, chickens feel, pigs feel.

If you agree - then what is the morally relevant difference between a dog and a cow, a chicken, a pig, that makes it ok to abuse those animals but not a dog?
I can't find a difference - all of them can feel, they experience life, they have complex emotions, wants, needs.

Here's why it's obvious:
If someone abuses their dog, it's clear that we should save the dog from them. Not because the dog is owned, not because the person abusing a dog is a psycho - because it's wrong to abuse dogs.
