People think the male fantasy is power, but no

The male fantasy is having an actually cool midlife crisis that you meet a goth baddie in the middle of, like in Fight Club or The Matrix

The female fantasy is getting lost in a big maze populated by muppets and a singing twunk, like in Labyrinth

The risk is real. But everyone should realize this Greenland thing is a classic wag the dog attempt to change the conversation from domestic topics he’s getting hammered on and has no answers for because they’re hard problems that have no easy TV solutions. Don’t let him get in your head.

There’s so much cheap garbage you get tricked into overpaying for on Amazon and etc. If you live near an IKEA, it’s really worth checking out for all kinds of stuff from straightforward air purifiers and smart home stuff to functional and reliable cutlery and pots and pans.

Sigh. I’m a middle aged millennial moderate. But it might be time to shut up and go march and protest. I believe in this country even when it’s ugly, I’ve traveled a lot and I’d rather live here than most anywhere else. But sometimes you gotta fight to save what you love.

(he's now at a table holding his head, sweating, surrounded by sketches and books to learn to draw anatomy)

Someone here know anyone rich who’s got a few hundred thousand bucks lying around so I can seize tools of evil like crypto and NFTs and AI to build stuff that’s actually useful for normal people and protects the rights of real artists?

Been playing a lot of Sins of a Solar Empire 2 recently. Really scratching that RTS itch. Weird how it basically flies under the radar as far as I can tell, while it was basically a graphical upgrade of end of life Sins 1 at release, this is a great example of a studio that just keeps working at it.

Okay that FF14 Arcadion finale. Great fights, great story, just a winner all around. This game's still got it folks, let's see what they've got cooking for 8.0 in a few months.

Been glazing Star Citizen recently. But gotta be balanced. 4.5 ate my favorite gun and my hard earned night vision scope because of weird inventory glitches and now when I login in I don’t have a body - I’m just an empty suit of armor floating on air lol. Guess I’ll be back next patch folks lol.

Haha. I got credit for convincing @garrettart.bsky.social to play warframe even though I suspect others like @luke-garou.bsky.social and @kylefergusson.bsky.social had more to do with it.

MONUMENT (1992)

Acrylic on Watercolor Board - 32" x 20"

After Isaac Asimov passed away in 1992, I was asked to provide cover art for a posthumous tribute in "Asimov's Science Fiction" magazine. 1/4

The opening of Trading Places is such a love letter to the city of Philadelphia and such a time capsule of the early 1980s.

Were 90s kids clamoring for a Batman cartoon with 1930s Art Deco aesthetics? Is that what the market demanded? Or did some really smart creative people have a vision and make a genre-defining hit that sustained 20 years of TV shows? If you want success look for vision, not just metrics.

@warframe.com Continues to impress with cinematic storytelling that keeps raising the bar. This is far from that game I bought a founders pack all those years ago and then came back to later and played for a long time on Xbox after stepping back in in 2017. You’re doing great work.

I made a bingo card for 2026 in gaming!

Some things are a bit random / wild cardy, some might already have info out there that I've missed, so let me know if that's the case. But I think this is what I'm going with!

Oh. Finished 7.4 msq in FF14. I’m excited for where the story is going. It tickled a thought I had a ways back about some things that could happen. Excited to see what they do with it.

People underestimate how much even *one* speedbump can make a difference. Most real world stores still have theft, but with a few minor steps, they don't have a GIANT theft problem, but a small one that's manageable and they can focus on tracking down repeat offenders. Lots of things work this way.
"people can still download your art from bsky and feed it into AI" if gamer behavior has taught me anything, just one extra button press is more than enough to annoy a MASSIVE amount of people into not making the effort

Gonna draw more. Oddly experimenting with genAI has just reminded me that turning dials on a machine may produce interesting outputs, but the process is creatively unsatisfying and deeply limited. Maybe write a bit more too. Been working too much, living too little.
