The first picture is from 1969 Moomin animation, but the second one is from 1990 anime (Tanoshii Moomin Ikka) that most of the world grew up with. The one from our childhood had guns too :P
Found out there was a version of moomin valley where they gave the moomins guns. and hayao miyazaki animated for it lmao

I have FINALLY found fresh goya/bitter melon in Finland. I've never had it in Japan either but I've always been interested in making goya champuru and trying out what it actually tastes like!

I think it's really really funny how the One Punch Man Season 3 interpolates the "Power to the People" chant from the John Lennon song Power to the People when I'm quite certain John Lennon didn't write the song to be about super heroes :P

If you want a simple but an incredibly tasty dinner, just put, salmon and mushrooms (and little bit of onion) in foil, put a bit of butter, soy sauce and/or miso in with the ingredients, wrap the foil, and cook on a pan (or on open fire I guess).

I sincerely hope that after Zohran and other progressive Democrats winning, the mainstream Democratic party in the US will FINALLY have the guts to openly proclaim that immigration is in fact good, instead of buying into the shitty rightwing framing of immigration as a problem.

I also tried a rowan berry sour. As someone who loves rowan berries, this doesn't quite capture the flavour. It's pretty good, but the flavour is a little off, bit too vinegary, and I wish it was a little closer to the rowan berry flavour.

There's also a small craft beer event here. I had a 1dl serving of "Mega Stout" from Kakola Brewery (from Turku!). It's... 18% strong stout, the strongest stout I have ever seen.

This weekend's beer is Suomenlinna brewery restaurant's rice lager.
It's a surprisingly light and refreshing rice lager without any bitterness or bad after taste of a typical lager. The main downside is that it's a little watery, but the flavour is still surprisingly complex.
Much better than Asahi.

My knife skills have room for improvement and from the small pieces I bought from the store you couldn't really do many proper nigiri cuts, but these were great!
