With an exasperated roll of his eyes, Loki hid his face against the desk, letting his hair shroud his vision in darkness. “Hey, come on,” Mobius said softly, brushing Loki's hair aside. “Did you have another late night?” Loki tried to repress a shiver from where Mobius’ fingers brushed against his temple. “Yes, I did,” he lied, speaking directly into the desk. “And I would greatly appreciate being left alone to recuperate, please and thank you.” “Wow, look at you! Such manners—please and thank you? I’m honoured.” Loki let out an indignant grunt in response, and Mobius placed a gentle hand on his shoulder, giving it a reassuring squeeze. “If it makes you feel any better, I may have a little surprise for you after work.”

Happy Seven Sentence Saturday #Lokius legion 🫡

I've been feeling pretty uninspired lately, but I wrote this earlier while sitting on the kitchen floor waiting for pizza to cook.
In the entirety of Loki’s life, which was admittedly quite long, he’d never met someone as joyful as Mobius. He often watched him from a distance, enthralled by the way he interacted with people with such genuine interest, making even the grumpiest of analysts smile. It was a stark contrast to how Loki had generally interacted with people for most of his life. For him, joy was always short-lived and burdened with the weight of his past. No one had ever paid attention to him in the way that he wanted, and no one trusted him, so why would he bother being genuine with anyone? Mobius, however, had a knack for finding joy in the simplest of things—his eyes lit up at the sight of a steaming hot cup of cocoa, his smile grew wide as he told bad jokes just to make Loki roll his eyes, he would exclaim happily under his breath when he found a pen that wrote smoothly, and even in moments of quiet reflection, he would lean back in his chair and hum in satisfaction. Loki began to realise the true power of his joy. It wasn’t a facade as he originally thought; it was a choice, an act of defiance against the reality of his life being stolen by the TVA. Mobius had been through his fair share of challenges that, somehow, despite living vastly different lives, Loki could relate to wholeheartedly. However, unlike him, Mobius had chosen to embrace life with open arms, and in doing so, inspired Loki to reconsider his view on life. Being around Mobius had opened him up to a happiness that, for the first time in his life, meant that he had more good days than bad. It was no wonder that Loki fell for him.

“Please, please,” Mobius whimpers, and Loki knows he’s no clue what he’s asking for, but it’s a joy to hear him speak, to ask for something he can’t name. Loki presses their face into his soft belly, feeling the hairs tickle their nose, and smiles at Mobius’ half-swallowed cursing. He's definitely biting his lips again, trying to keep down the noise, and—like always—it's useless. It always is. It's a sweet pleasure to feel him tremble beneath their touch. A beauty that only they get to experience. They breathe it in, let their lungs fill with only him, feeling their heart soar with it.
