Kudos for this brave piece @mbolotnikova.bsky.social. It was only a few years ago that I stumbled upon this knowledge through work, and decided to #DitchDairy. This (youtu.be/UcN7SGGoCNI) sums it up in 5 min. I'll never look at factory-farm milk the same way again. Bring on the ❤️ plant milks!

Can't heart this enough
"ICE guys are pretty miserable. I don’t think morale is particularly high for them. They’re freezing, they’re getting shouted at. They can’t go anywhere without being tailed by 5 cars. They get out and immediately there's a crowd of 100 people shouting at them, blowing whistles as loud as they can."

Guardian reviewer savages #Melania doc: www.theguardian.com/film/2026/ja... and makes apt comparison to unforgettable film 'Zone of Interest', about 'idyllic' WWII lifestyle of commandant that ran & tuned out horrific daily evidence of next-door concentration camp: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Zon...
Melania review – Trump film is a gilded trash remake of The Zone of Interest
Dispiriting, deadly and unrevealing – there is a decent documentary to be made about the former model from Slovenia, but this one is unredeemable

With the $75 million Jeff Bezos spent to produce and promote the flop "Melania," he could have employed more than 180 @washingtonpost.com reporters for four years each.

Finally read this Coyne piece. Tx @mendelmatt.bsky.social for adding 'We can do it' commentary (which I agree with)! I think we all have a responsibility to avoid defeatism online. Citizen 'morale' (as it was described in previous wars) is, and will remain, a valuable national resource going forward
Excellent piece from Coyne.

Those of us paying attention have known this was going to be hard. Our choices are all ones that come with difficulty in the short-term.

If people in Ukraine and Minnesota can stand up to fascists and evil, Canadians can too.

Reminder: All it would take to end the murder of American citizens by an untrained government goon squad is 16 Republicans in Congress voting with Dems to defund ICE (or 23 to impeach and remove Trump — 3 in House & 20 in Senate). That’s it. 23 Americans can vote for the public and end all of this.
