Ok, the Ifrit reveal didn't take too long. They faked me out a little, but I'm glad to see Clive's power isn't as crazy as stealing entire Eikons.
Back to assuming the other fire Dominant is Joshua.

I like the Ifrit design, he's like a more expressive Godzilla. #VA_FF16

Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein looks beautiful and feels very true to the original novel.

But I have to dock it a point for the scene where another character stares directly at Victor and says out loud, "You are the monster." That's a writing crime.

Starting my third session with the reveal that Cid's name is actually Cidolfus. I cant think of a worse option. #VA_FF16

Oh that's fun, I get to play as Hugo. I mean Joshua. #VA_FF16

Looks like fun. Here's 20 of the games I'm planning to play next year. Random sample of my longer list.

Ok, time to dive into Final Fantasy XVI for the first time. Dont know too much beyond the name Clive.

Going to use #VA_FF16 for the playthrough.

Since I'm planning to start FF16 tomorrow, thought it would be fun to make a personal tierlist of the other single-player FF games (and annoy people)

I like that the NG+ playthrough adds a bunch of Digressions for the other Servants, but then this one just straight up revealed Assassin's identity like I should already know it. A bit disappointed in that. #FSR

Wake Up Dead Man is excellent. I loved its exploration of religion, both the positive and the negative. And of course, the murder mystery is a ton of fun too.

Honestly the first ending has left me very underwhelmed. The Rider reveals felt like I was missing a reason to care about this character. And the final chapter (Flames of Resentment) was very generic.

Hoping for more from the other endings #FSR

At least I was right that someone was from the Tale of the Heike.

This game is definitely showing me the limits of my Japanese history/mythology knowledge. #FSR

Also reached credits in Oxenfree 2 this month, although don't plan to platinum it after I hit some trophy glitches.

A bit of a let down compared to the first one. I enjoy time travel stuff and the big twist is fun, but the story overall was not as compelling. 5/10

November 2025 plats thread

1 (#240) - Sherlock Holmes Awakened

Interesting to see a remake of an older Sherlock game in the style of Chapter One. Enjoyed the shorter, more linear experience, although it is a bit too simplistic. 6/10

Going to start posting my platinums on here starting from the last few I've finished this November.

Could go back and post about the first 239 some time, if there's interest #VAPlats

This felt like classic Fate with Rogue Berserker dying in a way reminiscent of his original legend. Also liked the choice of this character as Berserker

Realised I was very wrong about Saber, not super aware of the Kojiki so will be fun to fill in that blind spot a little #FSR

Wicked: For Good is a pretty good adaptation of the second act, with all the same flaws, including a lack of great songs and a messy plot.

Making it a separate movie also made the pacing weird as it is slow at first, and then speeds to a conclusion.

As a fan of musicals, it's a 6/10

Chapter 3 done. While I liked the idea of Caster taking control of the Rogues, being able to take control of every servant is a bit much. For FSN Caster, it was her primary power and she only captured a couple. Maybe Caster's identity will justify it?

Pictured, unrelated Berserker pose I loved #FSR

I like the idea of Caster Circe, but why are Greek mythological women in Fate games always fantasy elves. #FSR

One of the (more obvious) identities confirmed. Also enjoyed Zhou Yu having a Chi Bi reality marble, and the way Caster (?) is taking advantage of the Rogue Servant concept. #FSR

Surprised to say I really enjoyed The Running Man.
Felt like a pastiche of 80s anti-capitalist action movies, including in being pretty silly a lot of the time.

Finished Chapter 2.
Didn't learn much, and no clue about the identities of the Archer from Hindu mythology or this old man Assassin.
My only new thought is that Rogue Berserker is possibly from Ancient Rome.
Excited to see the story start to develop. #FSR

What is this guy doing here? Not even trying to fit in. #FSR

Zheng Chenggong and his servant Zhou Yu are a pretty interesting addition here. I wasn't expecting other masters to be historical figures of note. Did expect Three Kingdome characters though, given the developers. #FSR

I'm here for wacky, pre-corruption Gilgamesh.

Less here for the Tamamo character which I had to look up the history of. #FSR

Bugonia was tense and funny, with great performances. I'm still not sure what to make of the ending, but I enjoyed it overall. 7/10
