that production sparked a lifelong obsession and I wrote my undergrad dissertation on the Beggar's Opera, so I can authoritively say that it counts as a musical! Without The Beggar's Opera, Jerry Springer: The Opera and The Book of Mormon would not exist

the change in tone in newspaper reporting has been stark - I read an article in our local yesterday that referred to Pride as "promoting a dangerous minority gender ideology" which is absolutely not how they'd have reported a decade ago

I *loved* AJ Lancaster's How To Find A Nameless Fae - it's a Rumpelstiltskin retelling so there's a level of familiarity for new romantasy readers, and if they enjoy it, the whole Stariel series is waiting for them next
