writing code, chasing bugs and pretending it was a feature all along / building tryflow.now in public
Confession: I'm about to do that thing where you rip out working auth because the new shiny docs look too good 😆

Clerk's been solid but slow on features.

Anyone actually made this jump?

Or am I about to learn why 'if it ain't broke' exists? 🫡

While everyone's hacking their morning routine, I've turned lunch into my secret weapon 😆

Most slept-on hour for remote folks 🫡

20 min to eat, 40 min to think without Slack destroying my focus.

Best debugging happens with a sandwich in hand.

Lunch break > morning grind.

I'm tired of seeing this.

Border radii aren't that difficult to get right.

Builders, for the love of God, fix your nested corners.

It takes 5 minutes to fix.

Ship like you actually know what you're doing. 🫡

Don't be like me 😬

Haven't made my first dollar yet, but I launched subscriptions anyway.

Turns out building in public means sharing the awkward middle part too.

Zero revenue, but the accountability is already working. Wild how that happens.

Determined to make my first internet $ this year.

I've been building tools I actually need instead of what I think will sell.

Turns out the problems that annoy me daily are the same ones annoying everyone else.

Your own friction is the best product research you'll ever do.

The goal this year: actually sell one of them.

I've been overthinking my app hosting structure for weeks and I need your help settling this: app.company.com, company.com/app, or separate domains entirely?

You don't escape the 9-to-5 by finding the perfect idea.

You escape by building, learning, and sharing consistently.

Each small project compounds your skills and network.

Eventually the job becomes optional, not necessary.

That's the real path to freedom.

Traffic spikes don't lie.

Committed to posting on X, got 60 visitors.

Shared a demo, another bump.

But 79% bounce rate means I'm either missing the mark or not explaining things clearly.

Time to figure out what's broken.

What if your dependency scanner could just open PRs to fix risky packages instead of only nagging you about them?

That's what I'm building into Check. Import your manifest, spot the risks, get a ready-to-merge PR with the fix.

Say goodbye to "I'll update that later"

Gave my invoicing project's og-images a complete makeover.

The glow up is real.

@huge_icons are absolutely stunning

Hot take: the secret to viral posts might just be a coloured background.

What do we think?

I never expected what happened when I set a goal of 600 followers by the 15th.

We did it in 5 days.

You guys are unmatched. Building in public is incredible.

I wonder what we’ll actually hit by the 15th?

940k% engagement jump in one month.

Either my content got way better or I accidentally hacked the algorithm.

It was neither. I just started actually talking to people instead of yelling into the void.

Apparently social media is supposed to be social.

Who knew?

I built an app that asks you one question a day-and it's already changing how I think

Just one question a day to keep your brain sharp

No overload, just clarity

I was throwing away $80/month on hosting because I couldn’t be bothered to learn infrastructure.

- VPSs seemed scary so I paid extra for "simple"
- Switched to a VPS: same setup, $12/month
- One weekend of learning = $864/year saved

Laziness is expensive.

Technical builders ship faster than they can sell

The bottleneck isn't code anymore

It's distribution

So I built an app to hold myself accountable to marketing

The real question: am I solving a problem or just avoiding the actual work?

Finland is teaching kids to spot AI deepfakes at age 3

That's some next-level media literacy

What if we all grew up with that kind of filter?

Three months ago: 0 followers.

Today I hit 600 followers.

- Post daily
- Learn daily
- Engage daily

Showing up every day pays off.

Thank you to everyone.

The last 100 took 16 days. Can we beat it?

If your MacBook looks like this. I know how to fix it

Remember thinking React was impossible?

Just shipped my fifth full-stack app.

Wild how you only notice progress when you look back.

Building in public isn't just marketing.

It's what turns tinkering into actual results.

Developers who document their journey unlock opportunities (followers, revenue, connections) that would take years through traditional networking.

Time to lock in and earn my first $1

solo dev life: everything lives in my head, a crumpled sticky note, and 2am panic

should probably use actual project management tools but here we are

what's everyone using? or are we all just winging it
