These days, the artist are supplied with photographs from which to work; details and accuracy are considered essential for having a painting or drawing accepted into the collection, which is housed in headquarters in Washington DC.

This exhibition of work from #CoastGuardArtCollection @Salmagundi is quite interesting. Focusing on US Coast Guard labor and service, the #illustration #art is employed in brochures and advertising and serves purpose of education, recruitment, and—very important—public relations.
