Remember when there was vocal support for abolishing the police, and some dumbass with a microphone was like "Who are you going to call when you're the victim of violent crime? The cops, or your neighborhood crackhead?" Well...One of those is standing up for their neighbors right now, and one isn't.

I am not exaggerating when I say ICE functions as a terrorist organization in the Twin Cities. The goal seems to be to harass and frighten people (the ones who are lucky enough to not be abducted, at least) and it's deeply unsettling when you learn they're in your neighborhood.

Protest is totally understandable against ICE and related violence. Also, hyper local civilian protection is not protest. It's people protecting people from violence. It's neighbour protecting neighbour.

Hate to break it to you, but if you're insisting on "staying out of it" right now, you're a huge part of the problem. Refusing to take a stand at a time like this in order to "keep the peace" means you're more interested in your own comfort than the safety of your neighbors. Grow a spine.
