You have to lift tons and tons of servers into orbit, for one thing. And keep moving spare parts up to them. Then you have to meet massive power needs and massive cooling needs. Then you have to maintain a massive data pipeline, to a data center that is in constant motion...

The may be wandering into "not even wrong" territory.

And they still claim Musk is an engineer?

Yeah, really. Just design your tests such that time is not a major determiner of getting answers correct.

French protesters should get together with the sandwich guy. Have a brunch buffet protest.

Owning the results of their cuts - owning the bankruptcy and death - would not be bravery. It would be profoundly stupid. Political suicide for many in the House and Senate.

Bravery/cowardice only applies to admitting those cuts were wrong, or not admitting it.

...and who could actually remove the filibuster and get exactly what they want...

...of course, they would then clearly own the results, which aren't going to be good.

Technically, originally said by Frodo, "the Shadow that bred them can only mock, it cannot make: not real new things of its own. I don't think it gave life to Orcs, it only ruined them and twisted them."

Also note: He only has power while given cover by GOP Congress. Which is why swearing in Rep Grijalva is a thing...
October 26, 2025 at 4:51 AM
That's not quite accurate anymore.

Per PBS survey earlier this month, 67% of Republicans want the files released. We don't need a full defection - the President is so underwater on opinion polls he can't support losing pretty much anything anymore.

GOP leadership may not care, but constituents still do.

However far down the road they are, it isn't far enough to continue without their base holding out for them.

Those wars were when the population of the US was about 2.5 million and 31 million, respectively.

Today, the population is about 340 million.

Also, those wars were before examples of becoming non-violently ungovernable were established by Ghandi and King.

Aside from how Mass Ave is semi-urban. There's nowhere along it with twigs and acorns to crunch under your feet.

It is incumbent on the author to not choose ambiguous language. Since the second is common, the author should have either chosen different language, or explicated further.

Dictionaries are a guide, not a shield.

Yeah. In Boston, the spread of age representation was remarkable. But, we have so many universities in session now, with all those students who could just hop on the T and be at the rally.

You seem a bit out of touch with current use. "Performative" these days does have a connotation of being inauthentic, for the sake of appearances...

You wanna do dueling dictionaries? Oxford, definition 2...
