Technically, originally said by Frodo, "the Shadow that bred them can only mock, it cannot make: not real new things of its own. I don't think it gave life to Orcs, it only ruined them and twisted them."
"Evil is not able to create anything new, it can only distort and destroy what has been invented or made by the forces of good."

At least they weren't radioactive, right?
Right?!?!
Um... systematically demolishing the myth of American excetionalism?
Also note: He only has power while given cover by GOP Congress. Which is why swearing in Rep Grijalva is a thing...
That's not quite accurate anymore.

Per PBS survey earlier this month, 67% of Republicans want the files released. We don't need a full defection - the President is so underwater on opinion polls he can't support losing pretty much anything anymore.
GOP leadership may not care, but constituents still do.

However far down the road they are, it isn't far enough to continue without their base holding out for them.
Those wars were when the population of the US was about 2.5 million and 31 million, respectively.

Today, the population is about 340 million.

Also, those wars were before examples of becoming non-violently ungovernable were established by Ghandi and King.
Aside from how Mass Ave is semi-urban. There's nowhere along it with twigs and acorns to crunch under your feet.
Here you go sir, from any out-of-print Taste of Home cookbook...
Because personal insults are the way through disagreement?

Take that nonsense back to xitter.
It is incumbent on the author to not choose ambiguous language. Since the second is common, the author should have either chosen different language, or explicated further.

Dictionaries are a guide, not a shield.
Yeah. In Boston, the spread of age representation was remarkable. But, we have so many universities in session now, with all those students who could just hop on the T and be at the rally.
You seem a bit out of touch with current use. "Performative" these days does have a connotation of being inauthentic, for the sake of appearances...

You wanna do dueling dictionaries? Oxford, definition 2...
The link on this one is not functional, Mr Reynolds.
But, it isn't just one, is it? It is some of each. Meaning, yes, some folks are effectively victims of propaganda, but others are actually bad.

And, me, random Joe, cannot tell them apart, and can't do anything about it if I could. We can't make the deep connection to bring them back.
If God doesn't need a starship, he'd sure as heck does not need this dunderhead.
The tales they will tell their grandchildren...

"And that, kids, is how grandpa bravely arrested a clarinet-playing banana."
If we classified lying for political gain as fraud....
So, with respect, the playbook is for *PEACEFUL* protest. If protesters get violent, they should expect legal repercussions from any government.

By report, Boston isn't stretching the definition of violence. You get into a brawl, there will be consequences.
Reducing the opposition's support is usually a good move, energizing them a bad one.

You have to remember... lots of people are kind of okay with authoritarian moves, so long as they are against libs and brown people.

Few are for granny dying 'cuz they can't get her care.
You use the bind, because Trump's support is withering. But making this about, say, defunding ICE, will energize his supporters. Focusing on how he's going to hurt his own supporters hurts him.

No, the idea isn't to turn them into Dems. Just removing incentive to go to the polls helps a lot.
Also note - the healthcare cuts are mostly going to land on the backs of people in Red states. They use the subsidies most.

Making this about healthcare, that even Red voters want, undermines GOP support in those places, in ways making it about ICE would not.
