In less than 24 hours, Hurricane Milton exploded in strength, with speeds doubling, going from a Cat 1 to a Cat 5 storm. All because of the record-warm temperatures in the Gulf of Mexico. Don't listen to anyone saying climate change isn't affecting hurricanes.

On the BP news, remember when an HSBC exec said "who cares if Miami is six meters underwater in 100 years"? This was a valuable insight into the decision-making process of corporates. Which is that there are no short-term financial incentives for mitigating climate catastrophe.
‘Who Cares If Miami Is 6 Meters Underwater In 100 Years?’: HSBC Executive’s Incendiary Climate Comments
A senior executive at HSBC bank has claimed that “investors should not worry about climate risk,” sparking widespread concerns about the financial sector's real view of the climate crisis.

In 2023 more people than ever before are becoming aware that #BigOil knew exactly how dangerous their product was for human civilization & covered it up, denied the science & delayed our #ClimateAction for immense profits. Now that our cities burn, shouldn't they pay for it?
There is no #ClimateChange Fairy that magically pays for the increasingly deadly/costly climate disasters our towns and cities now face. Should the taxpayer foot the entire bill for this or does some culpability fall on #BigOil for their decades of deception, denial & delay?
With California's landmark Sue Big Oil case going forward, many other jurisdictions will look for them to pay up for steadily increasing climate costs. Might Calgary, Oil and Gas capital of Canada one day seek the same or should it all fall to taxpayers?

September 2023 Temperature Update 🔥

Warmest September & largest anomaly ever measured, shattering previous September record.

Warming since August concentrated in polar regions.

Near certain that 2023 becomes the warmest year.

Likely 2023 exceeds 1.5 °C.

I’m still very much figuring out Blue Sky, but who here would be interested in some tips on lowering your digital carbon footprint? Is that something that would be received well? Or should I not spread awareness and keep it for other socials?

These cities will feel climate change's effects the most
The whole planet will feel climate change's impacts over coming decades. But some cities will see more dramatic changes in temperature or precipitation than others.

Millions of people are already being forced from their homes each year due to climate change, and that number will quickly rise. We need to slash GHG emissions NOW to stem the tide of this humanitarian and refugee crisis.

Recently, I took a dive into a personal reflection… was an Apple Watch a source of stress/anxiety in my life?

I’ve always been a watch nerd, I love watches and horology. I always found it hard to wear a mechanical watch in the last 6 years of wearing an Apple Watch almost exclusively. (1/?)
