I wrote a little code and tried to generate something meaningfully similar on a 9950x3d, got this. Horizontal scale changed significantly since 2007. Vertical scale, not so much :)

(Not a particularly robust methodology or analysis, but the shape was remarkably consistent between runs.)

And this chart - which is discussed in the linked text - is for a CPU with a 1MB L2 cache.

If you were to run a similar test on a recent CPU, I suspect the cycles/op peak on the right of the chart would be at a fairly similar number -

The code is in the SDK, which looks like its available from a few places in .iso form. If you're so inclined.

The images in the video were generated using a PlayStation 3, running Linux - which was a thing you used to be able to do.
