Just found out that Netflix is taking down She-Ra: Princesses of Power in February and thereafter there won't be a legal way to watch the whole series. Well, shit. The series was a perfect example of the sort of representation that would have made a huge difference to me if I'd had it when I was growing up. It's comforting to me even now as a badly adjusted queer adult. It's not perfect, but it dealt with a lot of themes on top of specifically queer issues that don't get a lot of attention in mass media, and it doesn't deserve to be swept under the carpet, taken away from the people it might mean a similar amount to in the future. I'm sure people will be able to get hold of it if they want to track it down, but removing this stuff from discoverability is what does the damage. The sooner the industry implodes and we can go back to the concept of actually buying media that we enjoy the better. #spop #shera #sheraprincessesofpower
