That's Will Forte playing JD in an SNL sketch.

Worst person you know assures you that his racist alcoholic asshole friend is "great at parties"

In the interest of journalistic integrity, I feel like you would have to try this after doing a bladder-ruining amount of ketamine.

Real men are messy bitches who live for drama.

Great-gran would huck them out into the yard and retrieve them after the next severe weather event. #appealtoancientwisdom

Kubrick's "The Shining" and Lynch's "Dune" occupy a similar space in my head, reserved for "Adaptations that are gloriously weird and great in ways never intended by the authors."

It feels silly to admit, but even after all this time one of my favorite genres of fiction is still and always has been "Orphan goes to Wizard School".

I also have a soft spot in my head for the Gilgamesh and Enkidu enemies-to-besties team-up/bro-down style of action epic.

Bath color tablets. Bath markers/crayons. Turn down the lights and drop some glowsticks in the water for a baby rave.

Right, if there's some hero (or heroes) over at X who are annoyed that I implied they're dumb, then I owe them an apology. I don't have a native counter-espionage mindset. 🙂

Yeah, I'm picking up what you're putting down. Do I think it's plausible that this was a deliberate act of sabotage? Sure, Elon disgruntles employees like it's his job.

But I'm also sure you've heard the old adage "that's a feature not a bug" to explain away simple carelessness in development.
November 23, 2025 at 5:01 PM
It's true. I just think the decision was mindless, not considered/deliberate.
November 23, 2025 at 4:41 PM
Well, my hypothesis is that it was a consequence of the mindless churn caused by agile development. New features constantly appear in applications because the methodology demands them, not because any individual human in the loop necessarily thought about it twice. But this is a whole tangent.

It appears to have been the result of an update to X (the everything app)?

Finally an example of agile 'continuous delivery' that I can get behind.

I'm sure you will soon find that Americans don't want to hear about how wrong the pundit class was. They want to hear about kitchen table issues.
November 23, 2025 at 4:29 PM
Yeah, the problem is not that these guys were seriously planning violent action in public (I doubt they were). The problem is that this is 1970s East Berlin shit.

Resignation is effective Jan 5th, two days after she becomes eligible for lifetime taxpayer-subsidized benefits. As an enterprising crazy person/liar, she can make way more than her paltry 6 figure congressional salary working for right wing propaganda outlets.
