hey look, I was playing with three out-of-town Gen X’ers and we still got it right

I was the only one who knew the answer, but still, dammit

honestly, I think it’s nice that I get to be the appreciator instead of being the hater, for a change

Pilar was so good, RIP

and yeah there’s a world of difference between Pirates (well-regarded movies made by a good director) and Transformers (the opposite)

just because we can pick out elements of a director’s style doesn’t mean they’re any good!

actual question, does this mean Alabama has any obligation to add him to the roster? is he even with the team?

if there’s a widespread issue with how the Yankees reach hitting (maybe there is, but I don’t think it’s certain), it’s at the major league level

I mean I do think “can’t develop hitters” is a large oversimplification (especially since Rice and Wells are both development wins) but being able to regularly trade batting prospects (who usually flame out in other teams’ systems) for MLB players is also a sign of good development!

the Dominguez thing makes enough sense, since the hype was centered around scouting reports about a 16-year-old, and never abated even as his prospect years showed waning potential. the Volpe thing might be a big issue, since he’s never been good at two aspects of hitting at the same time

well, “playing,” so that explains a lot of it
