Yeah, I think every painting has the ugly stage. This is when we artists enter existential crisis and start crumbling apart. But each succesfull painting is like The Hero's Journey, we emerge victorious and changed from this experience haha

So, who is more silly?

The budgie regurgitating to his precious stick-friend?
Or the human who believes the imaginary AI-friend is conscious and real?

We already have a bunch of filters and other useful editing tools to do so in a few clicks. So, why use a tool that fills-in the gaps with the algorithm taking from the stolen humanity's intellectual work?

You are onto something

Yes, the Black-Whatever-Sale adverts are blasting from my radio for two weeks now and it's really really tiring

Emotional manipulation and unawareness have been used by phishers, scammers, or abusers for ages.

But now you have a tech giant's product in your hand which you willingly use and are excited about it.

That LLM feels like a real person. It's always there to help me out. It's my new friend now.

Enter LLM chatbots.
Look at how confidently they speak, how they emulate a friend, how easily people take their coagulated facts as granted.

Emotionally addict your user to your product, so they are unable stop using it. Emotions seems real, why wouldn't one believe the chatbot?

Now. We fantasize and bring to life inanimate objects. Whether it's a teddy bear or roleplay, our minds can create imaginary friends/situations

The tricky part is: the brain can't tell the difference between what is true and what is a fantasy. Really.

And obviously, we tend to believe our brains.

Just like them, we also have that need for socializing. It's healthy for our brains.

Without that, our mind wanders in the closed land of our thoughts. With fewer ways to verify the reality or to challenge our views; stuck in the past associations & old expectations played on loop in our heads.

Incredible!

I don't know the answer to that question. Hypothetically, why not?

Their lungs are stiff and have no diaphragm. But their airsacks, which one-directionally transport the fresh air to the lungs even when exhaling, makes their breathing waaaay more efficient than our puny sacks full of dead space :)

Either way, as it travels thru the trachea, the noise is amplified so the birds noises are even louder haha

That said, I know parrots use their beak, tongue, and larynx movement to help with getting the right human sound too. Maybe the turkey does that too? Who knows?

While idk what turkeys sound like or what they do, it's likely they use syrinx:

Birds don't have vocal chords as mammals do. They vocalize from the bottom of their trachea, where it divides into the lungs. Some birds can lateralize their calls, meaning they can play two noises simultaneously :)
