4/4 third, do you really think that bike lanes are put in specifically to remove parking? if that was just a typo that's fine, but that is a claim that is truly baffling in its originality.

3/4 second, your tactic here is very typical of reactionaries. you claim that people pushing for a better world are simply too unpleasant to listen to, and blame them— rather than the entrenched animosity and violence they face— for the backlash. this happens to feminism, to BLM, to trans people.

2/4 this can sometimes— especially online— come out as anger at drivers in particular, because almost all our transportation infrastructure is designed with them in mind. but i have never seen a bike advocate push a policy purely for the sake of hurting drivers.

1/4 three things. first, bike activists don't want to hurt drivers. we are broadly frustrated by the way that state DOTs, business owners, and even other some "avid cyclists" ignore the fact that bikes aren't cars or pedestrians and need different infrastructure.
