Why do press headlines continue to describe the stock market in words like “historic turnaround” instead of terms like “still down 3% just for the past month, 8% since early January”?
April 10, 2025 at 1:38 PM
So unemployment is its highest since November 2021. The stock market is its lowest since last April - wiping out a year of growth. Visas are revoked and people are deported for minor violations or no cause at all. Our allies and partners are furious with us. This is making America “great”?

There's no such thing as a self-made man or woman. No one succeeds without support.

"I did it on my own" is a sign of insecurity and entitlement. Acknowledging help is a mark of confidence and humility.

Giving credit to others doesn't undermine you. It elevates them.

In 2018, Trump tweeted: "Because of Tariffs we will be able to start paying down large amounts of the $21 trillion in debt that has been accumulated."

That’s not how it played out.

The “King of Debt” promised to reduce the national debt — then his tax cuts made it surge. Add in the pandemic, and he oversaw the third-biggest deficit increase of any president.

So apparently a small number of Rep. Senators *might* cross the aisle to block the Canada tariffs. I have mixed feelings: on the 1 hand, these tariffs are sh*t. On the other hand, I kind of want everyone to really see the ignoramus they elected.

Let’s not get confused here. The US federal budget for F2024 was about 6.75 T. For Musk and co to find 4.7 T of payments that are “unmarked” isn’t evidence of waste and graft. It’s evidence that this group doesn’t yet understand the system they are wading through.
