I am going to be unbelievably livid if they get next to nothing out of this. #Larsen voted for this nonsense too. Brilliantly giving up our leverage.

I pray I am wrong about this, and they get something meaningful from this two week delay.

Democrats Begin to Cave on Their Simplest ICE Demand
Why the hell are Democratic leaders giving up on a mask ban for federal immigration agents?

This is EXACTLY what I was concerned about when they made the two-week deal. They gave up all their leverage to negotiate.

I genuinely feel bad for those who chose public service and then are stuck working for/with this administration.

This isn't normal.
it doesn’t sound like the resignations are done in Minnesota DOJ.

This is a bribe, pure and simple. Unfortunately for us in the USA, you essentially have to hand someone a bag of money and say "this is for that" in order for it to be an illegal bribe.

Just more proof we need to broaden the legal definition of a bribe.

They better use the leverage they have to enact meaningful oversight and changes. Democratic congressmen might not have an opportunity like this again for the foreseeable future.

Dr. Sarah Paine is fascinating to listen to. An incredibly intelligent woman. I wind up listening to all her lectures online and her books read exactly as if she is speaking them. Strongly recommend her for anyone who is interested in Asia, history, or geopolitics.

It isn't the public's job to uncover those individuals.

This is a reminder that there is a group of people too powerful to properly investigate/indict... even before any of them became president.

If we cannot hold the most powerful among us accountable, then they have too much power. #Epstein

Good.

The death penalty is not only immoral, but inefficient. The government is not infallible, and the risk of innocent people being killed is not worth the supposed "satisfaction" or "justice" of killing the accused.

Suppression of the 1st Amendment like this should result in criminal charges for those instigating it.

The military is required to disobey unlawful orders. Civil servants should be required to as well or face charges.

Our government should be the best of us.

Where is your passion? _Should_ have an explicit prohibition that DHS cannot detain or deport American citizens? Why wasn't this explicitly implemented when ICE was established?

Once more, putting out the fires that we should have seen coming. We need to stop legislating as if we will never lose.
