Jon Sopel - "This puts Labour in a position now where it is very much a party older people who lived through the 70s and early 80s would recognise."

Really, Jon? As someone who did just that it should be pretty easy to see that - no, it isn't.

Let's see... £2m... Oxford...

Just this 6 bed, 4 bath, detached home with 6 reception rooms and a sprawling garden 10mins from the city centre.

"not all the height of luxury".

Rich people really just live in an entirely alternative reality to everyone else. It's absolutely wild.

When you have one thing and it's swinging back and forth on your supposed values every time the British Government blows like a weather vane.

Daily Record do better than "analysis" just being whatever the ScotLab leadership "insider" team briefs you.

Fan of there being a mansion tax but... £2m?

This TEN BEDROOM house is apparently not a mansion. Really?

Labour not beating the "not convinced the country exists outside the Zone 2" allegations.

Ok but I'm not the only one who saw Badenoch flanked by two copies of the same man, right?

Aware this is just a silly game but... none of this involved hard decisions.

Taxed the wealthy more, cut the basic rate, taxed gambling, lifted the 2 child benefit cap, didn't impose austerity, cut foreign aid or welfare 🤷

Hey Scottish Labour members have you given up on your leader ever restraining himself from feeding our community under every bus he can get hold of yet?

I wonder how Scottish Power's award-winning LGBTQIA+ employee network In-Fuse feel about their company's name being stamped on the awarding of a hate group assaulting the rights of their community.

This was just 10 days ago (reposted without image)

If the EHRC had their way we'd see all women forced back into wearing only skirts and dresses and wearing their hair long lest they be suspected of being trans and banned from going to the toilet.

That's what this is suggesting. Masculine women being denied access alongside trans people.
November 19, 2025 at 10:49 PM
Shot - chaser - finisher

The EHRC admits there's no way to enforce anti-trans exclusion using paperwork.

Therefore it's only possible using gender stereotypes.

Therefore they defend excluding basically anyone who might be suspected of being trans.

A recipe for utter chaos.

And just like here it's not like they're actually ditching the centre-left for the far-right, but our media can only ever talk about far-right gains and never gains by the left.

Pink - the left
Dark red - Soc dems
Yellow - far right

It's so uncanny it's amazing it's not deliberate

I see Shahrar Ali has turned to approvingly sharing videos from "British Pariot", attacking GPEW for being too pro-migrant, and attacking @zackpolanski.bsky.social for being too critical of Trump.

A striking example of how transphobia is a gateway drug to the far-right.

Not even blinking between openly using "illegal immigration" to refer to "asylum seekers".

When asylum is not only my illegal, but internationally required not to be.

Mahmood is the shadow of cruelty in our politics. Reform could cease to exist and she'd still be pushing for this.

That this is what the parliament looks like during high-pressure votes is obscene and to add to that that there's *no* way to fix it and no way of fixing the archaic and ridiculous lobby-based voting system whilst this is the case.

It simply isn't fit to house a parliament anymore.
November 15, 2025 at 2:01 PM
Complete in their letter it's the most openly McCarthyist language I think I've ever seen from a campaign group recently AND a brand new demand that the BBC never even say the term "trans women".

Obvious they're continuing to radicalise themselves and also know they're not winning over society.

With all the chat about Wes Streeting as leadership favourite he must be extremely popular with the membership, like, top-5 most popular ministers, surely.

That would make sense and show the media is actually doing analysis and not just printing what they're sent in WhatsApp chats...

... well.
November 12, 2025 at 1:57 PM
He has this excellent paragraph on the British media class, which I think most of us can recognise - especially those of us who have been pushing back against the anti-trans sentiments of that media class for years now
November 11, 2025 at 3:34 PM
A bit telling that The News Agents' chat where Maitlis boasts about her part in eradicating trans youth healthcare in the UK did not feature fellow presenter Lewis Goodall.

Meanwhile he was writing this:

"Bluesky is dying!"

Bluesky usage has basically stabilised showing the communities based here have largely settled down and without something major changes are probably here to stay.

Notable that this week Bluesky also was an excellent first-stop source for breaking news and analysis.

In "your image of someone can be deliberately deceiving" news I saw this and immediately had to search how tall they both are.

This image is not actually a trick. Starmer is almost same height as Zelenskyy or Tom Cruise. I don't know why I didn't have any awareness of that.

This is World War I levels of "bodies for metres".

A map of all Russian advances in nearly a year - just the orange and red. As many as 100,000 killed to do it. What a colossal waste, all for Putin's obsession with his status and the eradication of Ukraine.

Ah yes, "Brides", famously the only people with emotional investment in weddings or involved in organising them
November 7, 2025 at 11:40 AM
This is the full quote, dog-whistles abound, with attacks on "identity politics" and "sectarian groups" driving away "women campaigning for their sex-based rights"...

... like his wife, anti-trans campaigner Ruth Serwotka, co-founder of Woman's Place UK.
