They've used stingrays in this capacity for years, whereas civilians face heavy jail time for spoofing cell towers

I actually don’t think this is entirely unworkable? Hexagon is just a 2D projection of a cube, it decomposes into 3 squares quite nicely.

Of course, they are a bit squished when viewed in 2 dimensions, and they don’t form straight lines… but otherwise they pretty much act like a squares grid

I love that they couldn't even be bothered to cleanup all the broken text in the opening shot

You can’t fool me, this is just C++

Took me a bit, but finally beat the boss on normal difficulty. Drone+missile build did the job. Definitely a bit dependent on luck - if the last boss gets their card manipulation trick in my hand too soon, I always lose

You know, I've had this blasted theme song stuck in my head for about the last 20 years, and it finally dawned on me that it's probably meant to be a heavily-synthed version of the Soviet national anthem

It’s wine making season once more. My neighbours make wine by the many 1,000 litres, but I’ll content myself with this one damajuana…

I see Slack has decided to add yet another mutually-incompatible way to organise messages

You made me look, and this is sufficiently horrifying that now you need to see it too 😂

After a macOS update, apparently I'm being protected from my own previously-installed system extensions. I feel... safer?

This morning was the opening day of my new cafe here in Galicia! It’s been many months of renovations and bureaucracy, but now the fun part begins. Going to have the proper inauguration Sunday afternoon, with live music, when we fire up the attached barbecue shack.

You successfully nerd-sniped me with this. I have an iPhone with a 120hz display, however, the browser defaults to 60Hz on this test (30Hz in low power mode).

To actually the tester to display 120hz, you have to go into Safari’s advanced settings, and toggle the following feature flag

Has the strange Chinese logistics platform become self-aware?

Hmm. Maybe it is this setting?

There’s this ruined castle on a mountain top, just across the border in Portugal. It’s bit of a hike to get up there, and then you sit at the top of the world, and feel the sun and the wind on your skin…

On reflection, I'll give a shout out to Jedi: Fallen Order and Jedi: Survivor in this context. They have some very complicated level geometry, and the map does a really good job of making it readable

I simplified generation quite a bit. Now all the plate tectonics runs on a pure triangle mesh, and then as a post process I replace each vertex with a hex tile (more or less taking the dual of the triangle mesh)

Did someone order plate tectonics?

This widget has been bugged for at least the last two iOS patches, and apparently Apple hasn’t noticed yet…

Hey, Apple, whatcha protecting me from this time...
