Like today's theme, it was a trap. I wanted to get points to cast billboard textures, and I took a friend's setup and tried to reproduce. I wanted it to make a painterly element for some styles.

All geo is procederal here. Getting this done early for an early night tonight. I reused the log from the "Soft" prompt for the cabin.

- then randomized some parameters. I also used null positions material decals in some areas. I also tried.. gabor on reflection mixed with normal vectors with a single kuwahara and shadow filter look - the magic sauce!

It does have a bit of a dry clay or plasticine look yeah. Thought it was intentional! 😂

That shading and model is incredible! And procedural?! Holy!

Really neat! Love the poses and materials!

Topics covered:
- Using smart primitives to make the shape procedurally with gizmos
- Using the Blender 5 scatter asset for easy aligned instancing
- How to fake jelly with AO for thickness and fresnel for additional stylized subsurface scattering.

Thanks for watching 💚

- and I used the new Blender 5.0 scatter asset. I also used another smart primitive for the jewel shape.

Cool animations! How were those done!?
November 11, 2025 at 10:51 PM
- Using stepped and frame divisions and map range to get "seconds" based on frames for round motion.
- Using RGB color attributes stored on the mesh to drive material masks from the generated meshes

General techniques covered:
- Making a spiral extrude out exponentially
- Using index selection based on face detection to get edges to extrude "railings"
- Using nth indices with the Index Mask asset to make the clock face
