Okay guys. EDDINGTON. Was I supposed to believe those anonymous shooters in black masks were actual "Antifa" with sniper rifles and machine guns laying siege to the town at the end? WTAF even is this movie trying to say?

Unfortunate that Burns allows obvious folklore to inform, and corrupt, his depiction of these people and events. “As a 22-year-old soldier, Washington *may* have fired the first shot in the Revolution,” is a statement that strains the credibility of the whole work.

EDDINGTON had me rapt, a true contemporary western with perspective and nuance and captivating performances until antifa (?) pops up with snipers & machine guns and the whole thing just spun completely out of control for 30 straight minutes. I remember thinking THE BLOB from the 80's was pretty good and I've recommended it right along but honestly hadn't re-watched it since then.
