IMO the problem is actually rooted in a deeply selfish belief that someone who produces art/music/film etc is providing them a product that they (perhaps subconsciously) value more than women’s safety. This is why Chris Brown, Trump, Kevin Spacey etc all were able to continue their careers.
It has always been so obvious that the backlash to MeToo isn’t about whether the abuse is happening but whether people are allowed to want it to stop

the fame monster anniv today is not only significant to me personally but feels really significant in the NR-verse. the entire project was about deconstructing the highs and lows of fame- studying fame as a subject & dream first (The Fame), and then experiencing fame as a horror movie (the Monster).

Even though I consciously know everyone loves Bridesmaids I really still don’t think it gets enough credit for being one of the most masterfully written comedies of the 21st century. I genuinely think it’s a better movie than many of the ranked “greats” (ie the Will Ferrell era)
