I say this as a proud BPS parent who believes in the crucial mission of true public education, and who volunteers hours each week with other parents to advocate for a school system that supports ALL students, especially the most vulnerable.

This elitist bullshit is not the path forward, BPS.

I swear to a God this district cannot get out of its own fucking way.

Closing schools that serve disproportionately Black student bodies, rolling back equity gains at the exclusionary high schools to ensure they’re hermetically sealed for white and privileged families.

Boston School Committee: “how do we make sure families know there are a lot of good options for high school in the city?”

BPS: “how about sending a never-ending series of emails about just three exclusive schools, with the implication that they are the only options for a good education?”

Some people *eventually* STOP explaining away abject cruelty, corruption, and murder.

We don't need to elevate these former cultists as leaders of a movement, but if they are truly contrite we DO need to find space for them – space to start the work of reparation for the damage they enabled.
From a book I'm currently reading. Guess the redacted name, guess which country this is from (left a clue uncensored in the text).

This comes from "Some People Need Killing" by Patricia Evangelista.
