Happy 30,004 miles to my trusty Blanchi Frankenbike. We celebrated with a 15°F headwind on my ride to work, as is the custom.

The Boston @bostonglobe.com editorial team has barely disguised its disdain for students and teachers for over a decade.

I guess the mask is just fully off now.

The @bostonschools.boston.gov comms team needs to stop promoting these garbage, arbitrary rankings from a defunct magazine that only exists now as a yard stick for elitism.

I finished Patricia Evangelista's Some People Need Killing: A Memoir of Murder in My Country.

Her description of Duterte cultists *deprogramming* themselves – at great personal cost – stuck with me.

It’s fair to say that this is exactly what they have been for.

They are desperately looking for any possible pretext to ramp up the military occupation of American cities.

Share a 90s movie you think deserves more love.

Nothing had a bigger impact on getting me back into camping after 40 than a cozy, down-enveloped hammock.

Norman Rockwell painted the scene of Bridges walking to school with her escorts, past racial slurs and thrown produce.

He titled the painting “The Problem We All Live With”.

In many ways – as Americans have resegregated schools – it is a problem we live with 65 years later.

Ruby’s parents Lucille and Abon lost jobs and were banned from shopping at the local grocery store. Her grandparents were forced off their land as sharecroppers.

In a move that foreshadowed white Massive Resistance to school desegregation, white parents pulled their children out of Bridges’ school.

Barbara Henry was the only white teacher who would teach Ruby, and she taught her alone in the classroom.
