What is a Doom/Doom relationship called? Is Doom x Council of Reeds called a Reedathon? Important. Questions.

Thinking of Shock Treatment again thanks to Zippy.

Chris Giarrusso created the greatest layered commentary on Thanksgiving we will ever have and Marvel published it.

There was a negotiation and some trade. The trans got Dax. The bis got O'Brien. And, if you're both, once in your lifetime, you get to fly a spaceship around at the warp speed of your choice.

I talk about it in Us Living, but Sonny Chiba's Street Fighter is a movie about a mixed race guy so sick of racism he'll fuckin kill people rescuing a mixed race woman and getting called on how are you going to be anti-racist and be sexist? Also, he fuckin kills everybody.

Here's a screen I have saved. He's also attempted more than once to publicly gather lists of "anti-Israel" people in comics so they can "do something about them." Expressed the "alphabet queers" have made him understand the hard right. Laugh-reacted Palestinian & queer genocide jokes re Israel.

Nonfiction comics are still comics (and memoir is journalism). A message, or nested series of messages brought to you as a PSA.

You can't say you support specific women, Black people, Muslims, or the queer left and also support or tolerate Daniel Kalban (and anyone willingly working with or supporting him. That goes for specific Black women or specific enbies or just in general. Continuing to back him makes your allegiance.

I think, for superhero comics, disability should be treated like super powers; if you aren't thinking how they affect every moment of someone's life and you aren't using them creatively, why? Why is Barbara wiring with no tools but a baton? Why is her phone out of her reach? Her shower a death trap?

In The Return of Bruce Wayne, as time moves around him, Bruce doesn't really acclimate to any era, doesn't change his way of talking, behaving, except when he's in the era of his childhood, a retro-40s 1970s. He reverts. Like jumping back 30 years & growing your own Cat in the Hat hat & glow sticks.

John Constantine meets Stephen Strange. It treats John's coat as a novelty. They basically stand and talk about nothing of consequence. One is edgy, but doesn't do anything edgy. The other is stuffy, but only so much. This had three credited writers. The art is good. It has fun layouts.

Scary True Stories is such a fun movie. Jumpstarted Japanese horror and particular trends and unafraid to put a gag story right up against something horrible. And, it feels like David Lynch-y soundscape stuff broke in, for Japan, here.

This Boy is beautiful and fucks me up, and the filmmaker, Amy Burt, passed shortly after she made it.

Also, fuck anybody who has a problem with he/him lesbians.

Watching Abbe Robinson's wonderful sapphic short, Piper, about a woman with a shit life, shit boyfriend, and shitty apartment who is taken away by an imaginary lesbian so cool all the women and children in the neighborhood go with her to someplace better.

Red beans and chicken. I just saw someone who was elected to office as a Democrat admit that until Covid they treated politics as a sport and now it's "the left" is going to drive them right. I deserve this.

Name somebody and I'll tell you my favorite movie they're involved with.

If I don't know who they are, I'll look them up, and if I still don't know, I'll make a guess. Whaddaya want for nothing?

Reed Richards' favorite movie and a satire which went over far too many heads (people should be embarrassed).

You do see "13 year old man" and the like used sometimes and I'll tell you when: a cop or soldier we're supposed to sympathize with just killed him. He's inevitably not white.

1300 words. That's enough.

I love this movie so much. Be happy it isn't thirteen hundred ways of just "I love this." "This I love." "Love I this."

Rise of the Silver Surfer pulled an exchange involving a teenaged Reed Richards that is even sillier in the mouth of an adult in the movie, and then there's Captain America and "no, you move," which was him being self-righteously wrong in the comic and just oddly hollow as used in a movie.
