Blame it on the most recent VS Wolves podcast + Daryl backlog vid this past week, but makes me think along the lines of how I've likewise seen media recs play out among communities and friend circles I float between... games, movies, anime -- groups, subcultures, events, worlds, special interests...
When I started the blog, it was from a (notably pre-Groups) place of "help newcomers avoid the hellish parts of my first week on VRChat." Yet now, a good chunk of things I tried this past year leaned pretty heavily into "well, <person I know> still goes/talks it up" as a quality marker. (2/3)
