"image collection project" update: still chipping away at the side project of a digital art book/zine based around liminal cell phone pics and stills from my video work

putting the images in "correct"/relational(?) order is tricky and raises questions if this should be another medium...

text from an interview with Phil Solomon: Now, that street is Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, and it’s ordinar- ily very busy with pedestrians and a lot of traffic. | had to type in a cheat code to “spawn” (which means they magically drop from the sky and just appear from the code, not from stealing) two huge army tanks and then use them to block off traffic on both sides of the street, again just like a film production crew might do. In that game, you can’t get a clean, first-person point of view of any kind without being in a vehicle. So | took a baseball bat, which is ordinarily part of your regular arsenal for murder and mayhem, and | smashed out the headlights of my car, because | didn’t want any ambient light in front of the camera. But if you do it too hard, you end up blowing up the car and getting killed, as | have done many, many times, of course. Something they don’t teach you in film school! | died many times for my art.
