Undisclosed endorsement is no joke, and consumers have a right to know they are being marketed to.

The EU is cracking down on influencers not telling their audiences the full story.
Quid Pro Quo: The Risks of Undisclosed Endorsement
How is a paid partnership defined? Is it a monetary transaction? A free meal? A night in a hotel? No matter what you receive from a brand for promotion, it must be clear to stakeholders.

What happens when your ambassador's values and your brand's values don't match?

Brand alignment is a two-way street and we need to take greater care of who we select as the faces of what we care about.

The Watchlist.

This week, Joey Swoll. the CEO of Gym Positivity combating entitled fitness influencers.

Does Joey promote accountability and responsibility, or misogyny and harassment?

Whatever it is, it might be a call to fitness brands to be careful whom they partner with.

Take a look below.

I posted yesterday regarding my recent blog about AI vs. the human spirit.

Whilst this is not related to AI, for me, I think Ethan Hawke sums up my feelings as to how a machine can never capture the human spirit and why we will never fully accept it.

Does AI really have to be so much of a danger to the creative industry? Can it be devalued? Where is the human spirit?

Do we buy AI? Please read and let me know your thoughts, particularly those with brands.
Do We Buy AI?
It feels like we are fast approaching peak creative AI capabilities. Whilst this stokes fears of mass redundancies across the globe, there are some things that we need to stop and consider.

I would appreciate it if you would take a look, read, like, comment, subscribe...all that jazz.

Content creators are often breaking the law for content, as well as blatantly misleading their followers and behaving generally irresponsibly. Misrepresenting their sponsors.

When alerted to this behaviour, not all brands react, and many simply stay silent. Why do you think this might be?
December 23, 2024 at 9:22 AM
Unethical behaviour from sponsored social media influencers is more than simply buying followers. There are many who mislead their audiences in other ways, and brands need to know what's up.
