I can see the wisdom of that. I think it leans into solving one problem while exacerbating another. The team is too small but they also don't have enough passing and dribbling. Brown is not a good lead playmaker. But there is no answer to that problem with this roster.

I've said this before but I think it will bear repeating throughout the season: in the modern NBA, you need shooting to win. Perimeter talent sets your ceiling. But your big man rotation sets the floor. This Celtics team's floor is in the sub-basement.

The thing about Hugo (or Minott or Walsh or Scheierman) is that they're all fringe rotation guys on a serious NBA roster. They're all going to have moments where they look really useful, and moments they appear useless.

I'm sorry but Simons stinks. I don't disagree about Payton's correct role being a sixth man, but Simons is not better. He's a prototypical gunner that doesn't bring much of anything else to the table. PP can pass a little and is a good fighter for boards. Im looking forward to Simons getting dumped.
