And indie authors will continue to rise. Btw, Red White and Royal blue sold around 100,000 copies in 7 months (2019), heartstopper sold 10 million copies, and Heated Rivalry 1.3 million. Bookstores are struggling to keep HR on the shelves. There is a market, publishers are just cowards.

i know i’m the cause of my own suffering and all but i just told my friend that i don’t want her to call me by guy pronouns because she shouldn’t feel forced to do something that feels unnatural and she just agreed to it

I think if you've lived your entire life feeling a certain kind of pain, you can't imagine what it's like to live without it. So it just feels normal.
my counter to this always is that i think ppl actually extremely underestimate their own dysphoria. very similar to like growing up in an abusive environment and not realizing how fucked up it is until you go somewhere else and talk about it and everyone's like wow what the fuck that's so fucked up
