And if getting a degree helps to get you to a place where you can be more stable, or provide you with more resources (mental, emotional, material) that you can use to help others who need help, then I think that’s a good thing. ^_^

And this is not to say that you should never help anyone, or only look out for yourself. But I’ve found it to be a good way to ground myself as the world gets overwhelming. “What can I do to stabilize myself *so that I can* help others?”

One of the things I try to keep in mind is the airline emergency mask principle. If you don’t make sure you’re functional and secure first before you help others, you run a risk of injuring yourself in your efforts to aid, and risk helping no one and adding to the problem.

This is weirdly comforting(?) in a way. In that weird fans and haters with no boundaries have kind of always been there and been the same. Thank you for this spread of the unhinged.
