So, I post about that stuff.

The bin is filling!

I gotta figure out how to sell these...

Finally getting my plushie patterns organized!

15 patterns in the last 12 months.

I didn't think I'd get this far... so I'm switching from vinyl to paper patterns moving forward. The vinyl lasts multiple plushies at least, but is still wasteful.

New Rob The Bunny in the works!

I'm still pretty new to minky fabric, but prob my best one yet!

Wanted to share that my #Minecraft shader pack `procPromo` now fully works on Iris for Sodium! Tested in 1.21.6

I'm going for Mojang's promo/key art style, that kinda bubble gum look; with smooth textures, outlines, and sharp shadows.

Try it out here-

Hey, I'll take it!
My SEO was in the low 60's
Best Prac wasn't the best

My site is a single-page app, dynamically loaded content,
I wrote a pre-deploy script to render static pages of all the dynamic content & ld+json

Plus that's running 3d scenes with animation & particles

Sweet, the game jam voting came in!

Currents Of War got first for best use of Story/World/Characters for the theme "You are not the main character" woo!
Out of 31 games

It was a pretty tight competition for art and music.
Vote count seems low tho

First pass at art & a system written up to handle background changes for my `Game Over` screen!

It's a state-based visibility toggle of scene objects.

It's getting late, but for a first `cram-stuff-together` pass,
I'll take it!

ui needs help tho...

Been working on some ambiance

Made a system in Houdini to export two textures-
-One maps to the U/X of the Mask image (The red & yellow texture)
-The other is V/Y of the Mask + Alpha

I then made a shader read a section of that U range to draw in the mask, I guess `light gobo`?

I wanted to share some of the technology I developed for Currents of War.
I set up a puppet rig in After Effects to animate characters,
Ripping off their limbs, animated all at once.

Wrote a state machine for the heroes + shader to handle indexing into the data texture

The game jam has wrapped up!
Tons of great games were submitted, its been fun playing these group projects!

Giving a team of creatives a month to develop a game was a recipe for something good!!

Currents of War took 15 days to make and we are happy with it, so far

Trying out a hair style in game that may have been inspired by marvel rivals.

Make sure you check your sprites on a dark and light background to catch those edge pixels,

And clean up your scene if someone else might see it!

Been working on Indie Game Clinic's collab game jam

It's a month long group jam, so it gives more time to focus on the art when you have a team!

Finally added in mobile controls for pxlNav!

You can finally run around on your phone-

I have been seeing an issue where the screen loads black sometimes, you'll need to refresh the page, sorry!

For the last month'ish, I've been revamping this scene in Maya + Houdini with plants & custom shaders for web.

You can run around on a computer,
No mobile yet...

Showing off #pxlNav for #threejs in a more detailed environment. Fun to work on so far! More to come!

#pxlNav is my interactive framework on #threejs for web to let you run, jump, get items, etc. But no fps for mobile yet.

Diggin' through old work for my .portfolioday post, wanted to share this too.
A throwback to 2019 with my first mix of C++ using #OpenFrameworks with #GLSL shaders.

There's always something new to learn out there!

I'll jump onto this #portfolioday thing
I mostly post plushies & website tech to blue sky, but been using Houdini for 18 years now, here's the type of stuff I make for fun-

My 2024 plushies!
I started making plushies June last year, and built a creation pipeline for myself;
The 3d-model-to-pattern tool I made in Houdini does some heavy lifting for me!
I'm happy with my progress!

My rabbit druid, stoking the flames...
A vid from my portfolio website running Three.js + pxlNav

Now that I got #pxlnav more packaged up, I can get my store's mini games made a little easier!

I figure, I'm making my plushies in 3d anyway, why not use them in web too?

Last few months I've been wrapping up a "game" framework for #threejs I call #pxlNav

Portfolio site (WIP)
procstack.github.io

Turning Maya, Blender, etc. into a level editor; in-browser shader editor, animation state machine, and more.

I'm using it for my plushie website & mini-games

Frank is looking dapper in black'n'white!
Got hold of'a bunch of Minky scraps, so tried making Frank in some stretchy minky.

Stretchy minky definitely has a learning curve. Gonna try non-stretch next!

Patrick the Pelagic Stingray v1 feeling pretty good so far to me!

Pat is the character you play as in the water mini-game I'm making for my 3d plushie website.
(Launching soon)
A "runner" style mini-game inspired by Robot Unicorn Attack and Aladdin's carpet levels on SNES.

A little behind the scenes of my plushie making process.
I created a tool in Houdini to turn any 3d model into sewing pattern I can then print or CNC my materials.
