I lost my Doc Martens at the Reading Festival in 2000 (and have been angry with myself ever since). Oasis are back now, perhaps it’s time I forgave myself & bought some new ones… ?

Good to know! We only had the first book in the library at my last school, but you’ve reminded me that I should request both books for my new school. Thanks.

I’ve only read the first book, but I agree that it is brilliant! (I don’t really read horror because I’m a big wimp & it was probably a bit too dark & scary for me, but I also thought it was excellent and I recommend it all the time.)

The Summer Reading Challenge is definitely still a thing! Stickers, certificates, a medal (tho I don’t think it was metal when my kids did it last). Libraries are always looking for volunteers to help them run it too.

This is the way. (My teen and her friend watched a scary movie - but absolutely definitely weren’t scared at all, nope - but then had to watch a couple of B99 Heist episodes to end the evening.)

PS. I have an underactive thyroid, so I’m always freezing! If I’m slightly not cold for once, that’s probably my version of a hot flush. 🤷♀️ (And no, crazy marketing people, whether I’m peri or not, I absolutely do not want a heated vibrator thank you very much!)

Fingers crossed it’s not too long a wait, Emma.

Thanks for this. I’ve been contemplating going back to the doctor & saying I’m having hot flushes because all the crying, not sleeping, brain fog & feeling like crap isn’t enough apparently. Sigh.
