On the flip side, my contribution is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Unlike Requiem, I appreciate it for what it is and the story it told as opposed to being misery porn. But I'll never watch it again because I won't forget the mistakes I've made, nor should anyone.

I didn't last 20 minutes into that movie. My bf at the time loved it and was low-key insulted that I found it disturbing to the point of needing to turn it off. It shoulda been a sign of our incompatibility, but I was deep into the commitment bias :E

Adults acting like children judging children

I think people frequently forget, too, how easily text and screenshots can get butchered into a 70 page callout. It is stunningly easy to make someone look awful with a little (or a lot) of inventive cherrypicking.
