I knew literacy rates were poor in some areas but I thought that meant "people don't read" - it had never occurred to me that in some places, kids are being taught to *confidently* read incorrectly based on context and guesswork

From a technical point of view - a lot of strategy games have already built these systems for AI to use. Following EU5's lead and exposing them to players is a "free" accessibility win worth exploring

I expect that advanced players will leave most of this off, but I encourage new players who find it daunting to turn some on while you find your feet.
It speaks to a core part of accessibility - providing options, meeting players where they're at. I can have choose the challenge that's most fun

I know you said allotment, not garden - any particular plans or goals? Aiming more towards vegetables etc, a nature meadow, or a manicured garden?

Fantastic space to work with and clearly decent soil! Main advice (if you've not done something like this before) is be consistent, plan ahead, and take your time.
Great gardens take years. Having both long term projects (clearing the grass) and short term (plant immediate color e.g. pansies) helps!
