I never thought I'd get to the point I don't care, but ownership has really proven they have no desire to put the minimal investment towards a winner. Really hit home when I realized I had no opinion on the manager search. They could bring in Joe Torre, Connie Mack or Tom Kelly and it won't matter

I agree with the volatility of RPs for sure, but replacing the top 5 of the bullpen in a single offseason with no money is a pretty tall task, no? Then again, ownership puts Falvey and Zoll in a no-win situation, so no sense complaining about what they try, I guess.

All the expiring contracts, I completely get, but Duran/Jax/Varland? If you want to run it back in '26, why would you obliterate a team-controlled (and not even that expensive) bullpen? Now they have to build one completely from scratch, with no money. If that's team building its epic malpractice.

No answer is the answer. If they were planning on adding or even maintaining payroll they’d say so. The full rebuild was announced when they traded their team-controlled RPs. No team with any hopes of winning does that.
