Angeline Era swooped in at the very last minute and has quickly become one of my favorite games of the year, definitely takes the prize of GOTY indie game of 2025.

My PlayStation Wrapped just dropped. I can't say I find any of it too exciting or surprising.

What perfect album came out the year you turned 16?

It's been a pretty rough month for me to say the least, but I'm ending it on a high note with a classic Halloween tradition.

31. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)

The last 30 minutes of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre still remain some of the most anxiety inducing I've ever seen in a movie. It's the perfect example of how working with a small budget can really go a long way.

30. Halloween 3: Season of the Witch (1982)

This always got unfairly mislabeled as bad because it didn't have Michael Myers. It's far better that it was given credit for and while the plot doesn't make much sense, it makes up for it by going balls to the wall crazy in the final act.

29. You're Next (2011)

This is probably my favorite slasher from the past decade, although it seems to be a lot more divisive than I remember. It moves fast, it's absolutely brutal and has one of the all time best final girls.

28. Shaun of the Dead (2004)

Man how I absolutely adore Shaun of the Dead. It has become a bit of a comfort movie for me over the years and made me a forever fan of Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. It is the best horror comedy ever made.

27. Demons (1985)

As far as Italian horror movies go, Demons is one of the best. It's kind of like a fever dream come to life in the best possible way. The plot is nonsensical, it's beautiful to look at and there's buckets of gore. It's a damn good time from start to finish.

26. I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer (2006)

I love watching straight to video trash, but this was hard for even me to get through. It's the worst kind of bad, the kind that's just completely boring. It's not even worth putting on in the background to kill some time.

25. Prom Night (1980)

Most people likely only know about this movie because it was referenced in Scream. It's Jamie Lee Curtis at the height of her Scream Queen status and that's really the only thing it has going for it, well that and the funky disco music that plays during the final act.

24. The Wolf House (2018)

The Wolf House is very experimental and has a unique stop motion animation style that gives the movie an incredibly unsettling tone. It's a great watch if you're a fan of Grimms' Fairy Tales.

23. Deadbeat at Dawn (1988)

This was classified as horror on Tubi because I guess the dude's girlfriend was a medium and talked to spirits using an Ouija, so it counts! It's a great no budget action movie that makes a good use of its limited resources and has a surprisingly brutal end fight scene.

The PlayStation 2 turns 25 today. These games are my favorite from that console.

1. Ico
2. Silent Hill 2
3. Grand Theft Auto Vice City
4. Yakuza 2

22. Brainscan (1994)

With the premise of a CD-ROM game making the player commit murders, you would think Brainscan would be more interesting than it really is. T. Ryder Smith does his best to ham things up, but otherwise the movie takes itself way too seriously.

21. Monkey Shines (1988)

It's a bit of a slow burn psychological drama and one of the more interesting films from a post Dead trilogy George Romero. Definitely worth watching for that adorable little mischievous monkey alone.

20. Tucker and Dale VS Evil (2010)

A clever and fun spin on the psycho hillbillies in the woods trope. It's easily one of the best horror comedies of all time and it's a damn crime that it never received a much deserved sequel.

19. The Void (2016)

If you like low budget horror movies with 80s Carpenter vibes and great practical effects, then you're in for a treat.
October 24, 2025 at 10:20 PM
18. Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988)

A group of alien clowns attack a town and kill the unsuspecting citizens in comically absurd ways. Another nostalgia movie that would always be on during a rainy summer afternoon and it's just a good ol time.
October 24, 2025 at 8:01 PM
17. The Return of the Living Dead (1985)

This movie is an equal blend of comedy and horror that is unapologetically over the top in all of the best possible ways. It's simply just pure chaos from start to finish and easily one of the best zombie movies to ever hit the big screen.

16. Dr. Giggles (1992)

Dr. Giggles was one of those movies that always ran on late night TV in the 90s and another one that I have a lot of nostalgia for. It's fun for what it is, mostly to the credit of the late great Larry Drake who turns the camp up just enough to keep the things entertaining.

15. Pontypool (2008)

The premise of words being infectious and putting people in a hive mind state that incites violence is eerily relatable in the year of our Lord 2025. Words have power and taking that power away can be damn near impossible once they've already started to spread.

14. Scanners 3 The Takeover

The straight to video market was booming in the 90s and studios wasted no time making low budget sequels to almost any movie. Scanners 3 is one of the many heaps of trash that resulted from this, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy how off the wall bonkers it got.
