Same-ish here Megann.

Can’t quite put my finger on the reasons for it but a few years ago my outlook on life changed fundamentally for the better ie I became happier.

'23 far too young for a Chablis PC, surely?

House band and bare-brick walls.

Sounds like my kind of coffee shop 😀

Best match criteria tend to be:

- full body to cope with richness
- high acidity to cut through fat
- neutrality to avoid flavour clash
- low tannins to avoid salt clash

Sherry, Loire Chenin and SB, Riesling / Gruener/ Assyrtiko etc, tawny port, mature reds all a good starting point.

Album of my formative years, Kate.

I spent years down a Joy Division rabbit hole before emerging to Smiths, Cramps, JMC and Pixies for light relief.

Friend tried (unsuccessfully) to get me into Stone Roses, MBV and Fall - these are now #1 child’s favourite bands so the circle is completed.

Global kleptocracy - sounds about right.

It’s Cold War 2.0.

Difference is US is now attempting to be one of the baddies.

Puts Europe in a decisive position and challenge is whether we step up.

We’ve known this for a long time.

A successful, functioning democracy on Russia’s border poses an existential threat to its kleptocratic regime.

These look just like the short of Victorian bay-fronted houses we have over here, Kate.

I used to live in one at university.

Ground floor, above the cellar, exposed hillside.

Ceiling was 3m high with no central heating - it was absolutely freezing during that North-of-England winter.

Great name - how’s the beer?

My favourite of the Beaujolais Crus - I think it’s the cote thing (more altitude, drainage, diurnal variation etc), but there’s just more going on in these than any of the others.
