I have a favorite coffee mug. It's matte porcelain, it's the perfect size and weight. Every barista I hand it to fawns over it. Last month I dropped it, and immediately ordered a new one. Since then, every website I visit looks like this.

the thing in Florida is abominable, but it does not *mean* this. just to pull a random example, there's no mandate where I live for an HPV vaccine, but my kids got that, and it was covered. insurance companies are more likely to offer people incentives to vaccinate, b/c it's cost effective.

sometime last year a bird stole a huge wad of batting from god knows where and stuffed their nest near the top of this tree in my back yard and my great grandchildren will be picking this stuff up when I'm mulch

fwiw I think this paragraph, which is echoed by the headline, is the weakest part of the whole thing. maybe Outside staffers feel this way, but I suspect public desire for these articles is either un- or positively correlated with these specific trends.
